5 mid-year reflections for the first 6 months of 2021

Hard to believe that June is gone and with it the first half of 2021! This is a great time to reflect on how you've done so far and how you want to finish the year.

It's summertime and the going should be easy. And it is, but it is also time to look back on the year so far and reflect on what has worked and what hasn't worked. I have 5 reflections on how to look back but more importantly how to set yourself up to have a celebratory year end. The two things that are guaranteed is that if you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep seeing what you are seeing. If you want a different outcome, you need to do something differently.

So how do you look back and reflect? Here are some questions:

1. Where are you at with your New Year's resolutions?

Did you make a new year's resolution list? Where are you at with your list? When did you ditch your list? Take an honest look at your list. If you were overly ambitious, it is time to revisit the list with sober eyes and re-adjust as needed. Looked at a number of studies and found that 80% of new year's resolutions fail by February so if this your case, you are certainly not alone. Confession is good for the soul - have an honest look at what this is and what it means for you.

2. What goals have you SLAYED in the past 6 months?

Where are you winning? Before coming down on yourself like a ton of bricks: what are the areas where you have been doing well? Celebrate your successes no matter how big or how small. Look at what worked and how you were able to succeed in those areas. Take note and replicate that success! No need to reinvent the wheel if it is working for you!

3. What could you have done differently

After celebrating, be honest with yourself. This is time for active reflection. What could you have changed from January to June 2021 that would have given you a different outcome today? What areas were you not consistent in? It is important to dig deeper and understand why you were not able to progress in these areas: was it overwhelm, was it a lack of commitment, were you overly ambitious at the beginning of the year

4. Where do you want to be on December 31, 2021

Think ahead to New Years Eve this year. What successes do you want to celebrate then? What items do you want to check as done? Visualizing success is a sure way to get you moving and going forward. If you didn't have a plan or a vision or didn't come up with New Year's Resolutions: Now is the time! Get your house in order. If you have already wasted 6 months of 2021, don't waste the next half: be clear on where you want to get to by the end of the year.

5. What are you going to do DIFFERENTLY to SLAY your goals?

Doing the exact same thing and expecting different results is insanity. What NEW WORK and NEW EFFORT are you willing to put in in order to SLAY your goals. I put together the Vision to Action program to help you place some clear parameters around your goals and your dreams. In four modules I take you from fuzzy idea of a clear vision and action items.

You can learn more about the program by checking out the Vision to Action page! I would love to work with you in the next cohort . Message me and let me know if you're interested!

Bottom line: You have an opportunity to shape the rest of your 2021. We are exactly at the midway point and your decisions and actions from this point on will determine what you are celebrating at the end of the year. If you didn't start the year as strong, you have the time to SLAY the rest of the year. If you've been going at it, don't lose heart - you're almost there. Keep the effort up and you'll be rejoicing!
